NATIONAL POLICE arrested a 30-year-old Spanish man who allegedly carried out a violent robbery in an abandoned property in PalmaAuthorities explained in a statement that the investigation was begun after the victim issued an official report.He reported having seen the detainee together with a Romanian companion collecting metal scrap pieces and copper from the abandoned property, located in Calle General Riera. The victim, who usually slept in the building, said he reprimanded him and claimed he was attacked shortly after.“He began attacking him and hitting him with a blunt object, which left the victim unconscious,” reads the police statement. “Then, he stole a total of €120 from the victim’s jacket.”The man had to be taken to the Son Espases hospital in Palma, where he was kept in for several days with severe injuries to his face.The arrested man has been remanded to prison.
