Brits vote Balearics best value

THE Balearic Islands offer the best value family holidays, according to a recent survey of more than 1,000 parents. And the islands’ hot spots Majorca and Menorca are 16 per cent cheaper than last year.
British parents have voted the Balearic Islands their favourite, good value getaway, quoting flight and transport costs, low-cost meals and drinks, and affordable entertainment as the main factors in their decision.
The survey revealed that nine out of 10 believed resort costs were an important factor when deciding where to holiday, according to Post Office Travel Money.
Affordable resort costs were rated almost as crucial as the price of an international flight or other transportation costs when planning a break.
And when it comes to getting the best value for their money, the Balearic Islands are perceived to be the most affordable.
The strength of the pound was also a large factor for over 60 per cent of the British holidaymakers surveyed. Nevertheless, those polled agreed on one thing – 88 per cent named the Balearic Islands as offering the best value for their money.
