Unleashed dogs leave residents feeling unsafe in their own homes

ON THE LOOSE: Two dogs roam the streets.

DOGS running free through Balcon al Mar have claimed the life of at least one cat and have made residents feel unsafe in their own homes.
Local resident Patrick Armstrong found his beloved cat Rosa dead after she was chased from his garden in Calle Issac Albeniz by two dogs.
Patrick said: “The dogs were determined in their pursuit. They went from garden to garden. They were brown in colour and very agile.”
Emmy Holtzhuizer, who lives on nearby Calle Johann Sebastian Bach, saw the dog that allegedly attacked Patrick’s cat. She said: “I saw one dog rush by in a flash, chasing the cat into next-door – then it was gone.”
When Euro Weekly News visited Patrick, there were two dogs, one German Shepherd and another leaner, black dog, roaming the streets.
Klaus Stoeker, Patrick’s neighbour, saw a black dog trying to get a cat in his garden. He said: “The garden is enclosed so it must have jumped over the fence, which is two metres high. I felt very nervous having to deal with the dog inside my own property.”
Patrick has reported the incident to the Local Police and a file has been opened.
