THE Arab wall in Velez-Malaga is now displaying its best side with a new lighting system paid for by the town council.Urbanism, Infrastructure and Maintenance Services councillor, Concepcion Labao, explained that the wall had been lit up in the area of Fortaleza-Alcazaba and Calle Murallas Altas.Several stretches of the wall have been brought back in view thanks to purchase agreements signed by the government and several residents whose homes were blocking the wall, which dates back to the 12th century.In addition, it has undergone preservation and restoration works which are now concluded with a new lighting system, with a cost of €125,000.Three Arab towers placed along the wall have also been restored at a total cost of €163,000.
