A bite of the cherry for Alfarnate locals and visitors

Fickr by Thomas Hawk

AXARQUIA municipality Alfarnate is currently steeped in its cherry harvesting season and gathering high quality samples to taste at the 10th Cherry Day, scheduled for June 20.
The town council is preparing one of the most popular events of the year, when farmers of the town hand out up to 600 kilos of the fruit for free.
Three of the main varieties of cherries have started generating fruits of excellent quality and size earlier, and producers from the town recommend paying a visit now to avoid the long queues formed by the beginning of June to collect the precious delicacy.
Alfarnate Council announced that new exciting surprises have been scheduled for this year’s event as it nears its 10th anniversary.
