Animal Hotel is a truly delightful place

AFEMAC: A weekly programme helps them to integrate.

ANIMAL HOTEL is a truly delightful place, with five star accommodation for both your cat and dog.
Run by Bo and his wife Antoinette for the last seven years in a perfect location set in acres of National Park. The couple built everything from scratch. The kennels and cattery have both indoor (heated in the winter) and outdoor runs, with a unique layout, the outside pens all face outwards, with the indoor pens allowing the dogs only to see the next door dogs (to avoid unnecessary barking!)
Bo is really passionate about his business, you can tell when walking around with him, as he knows all the dogs and they seem genuinely happy to see him (lots of wagging tails!).
Previously working in the agriculture business (growing spinach!) Bo quickly realised that to build a life/business here in Spain this wasn’t the field to be in.
The couple worked for many years volunteering for PAWS and fostered over 150 dogs, this is how they decided to build a business from what was originally just a hobby.
They also run dog training classes, (individual and group) which are different from others, as they not only teach the dog, but its owner what to do or what not to do, and not just in the class environment, but to utilise what you learn at home.
All training is based on positive reinforcement, avoiding punishment at all cost, so that it is enjoyable both for the dog and owner. They can also organise all export papers for your animals, and actually have one of the state inspectors for this organisation bring his own dog to board at the kennels.
They have a very informative website, with a map and simple directions www.animalhotel.es, or call 639 722 197, with prices and special prices for long term boarders.
Opening hours have just changed 10am – 1pm and 5pm – 7pm.
They also run a weekly program for AFEMAC, which is for people with mental illness, helping them integrate into society, with different subjects that they teach, for example how to transport animals, how to treat animals, hoping to increase their chances of finding work. During winter they work in the greenhouse, planting vegetable and plants, in summer there is a large vegetable plot.
A visit to this wonderful place with a really fantastic feel to it, is a must if you care about where your dog stays whilst you are away.
