Gibraltar Government House opens in Brussels

DEPUTY Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia and Attorney General Michael Llamas have officially opened the Gibraltar Government office in Brussels. Situated near the European Commission and the United Kingdom representation UKREP, the five-storey building, worth €1.3 million, contains three floors of office space and two floors of residential space.
The government considers the purchase, to be excellent value for money and a great investment.
One of the flats in the building is occupied by Legal Officer Daniel D’Amato, who has been seconded to Brussels by the Government’s European Union and International Department (EUID).
The opening of Gibraltar House in Brussels was attended by a variety of EU political representatives, including several ambassadors of EU countries, as well as the heads of regional offices of the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and Catalan governments. Conservative, Labour, Liberal, Green and UKIP MEPs also attended the opening event, alongside a host of Brussels-based representatives and media.
The activities of Gibraltar House in Brussels will be directed and guided by Sir Graham Watson.
