THE Junta de Andalucia regional government has been ordered by a Malaga court to pay €28,000 in damages to a Marbella secondary school pupil who was injured during a PE class.
The Junta claimed that the fall the girl suffered, which seriously damaged her right ankle after she landed in a gap between mats, was just one of those things, and a normal risk of PE. The judge, however, decided that the various operations the girl had to endure, which left her unable to carry out normal activities for 337 days, were caused by a lack of safety measures at the school, as the mats were not secured.
