ALMERIA UNIVERSITY (UAL) requested an extension to its deadline for building a medical school.Almeria City Hall made over a 17,000-square metro plot of land adjoining Torrecardenas hospital in June 2010. It was agreed that a medical school would be built within five years but this period has elapsed and building has not yet commenced.Meanwhile UAL, hampered by the economic crisis, recently applied to city hall for an extension. This was granted and the target date for making a start has been set for 2025.
