Benidorm stars sing for Emaus

THE multi-talented Derren Litten introducing the cast of ‘Benidorm’

THE cast of popular television series Benidorm showed off their vocal talents on Friday May 29 at the UK Cabaret Club in Benidorm when many familiar faces took part in a ‘Chari Oke’ – Karaoke with all the funds going to the Emaus kids’ charity – to the delight of a packed audience.
Sponsors Telitec and Avalon were there to support the charity and enjoy the show. Gemma Broad from Telitec said: “Emaus is a charity close to our hearts and we are delighted to be able to be involved in such a star-studded event.” Colin Ideins agreed: “Emaus does a great job and needs as much support as possible.”
The fundraiser had two specific aims, the first to raise awareness of Emaus and the wonderful work they do for underprivileged children; the second to provide a sustainable income for the charity through regular donations to a new portal at www.euroamonth.com
The stars entered the packed club to squeals of recognition, quickly swamped by people wanting pictures with their favourites.
Benidorm’s writer Derren Litten opened the show resplendent in cowboy hat and shorts followed by Benidorm’s stars strutting their stuff for Emaus. Notable highlights were Tony Moore with his rendition of Little White Bull and Tim Healy in drag as Lesley Marshall, the roller skating waitress, singing ‘Stand By Your Man!’
After the show the celebrities took time to mingle with the crowd even though they had a film call for seven the following morning.
