It really is a match made in culinary heaven.The awards, which are run by trade magazine Restaurant, dubbed the brothers’ combined talents as a “holy trinity”.A statement on the awards website lauded the unique restaurant, stating, “curiosity and creativity propel the Rocas back to the top,” adding: “This is a restaurant that has never forgotten its humble roots, its sense of familial warmth, or the need to serve remarkably delicious dishes and outstanding wines.”Josep Roca told AFP that the award made them feel “happy, loved.”“This recognition means that a lot of people trust in us and our commitment to our values and what gastronomy represents,” Josep said.El Celler is renowned for using ingredients from its native region of Catalonia, and it is also famous for its 14-course “culinary experience,” which they pair with wines and sherries from the Iberian peninsula.Finishing on an eager note, Joan Roca told AFP that he hoped the award would help local cuisine achieve “visibility… especially the excellence in our particular area where we operate.”
