CANAL PLUS has confirmed that the city of Girona will once again play host to the multiple award-winning smash hit show, Game of Thrones.The Catalonian city was high up on the list of rumoured locations for the sixth series, and sharing the limelight with it this time, will be the Valencian town of Peniscola, suitably known as ‘the city in the sea.’According to Catalan daily, La Vanguardia, producers are hoping to shoot scenes in Girona’s famous cathedral and in the city’s Jewish quarter, Call Jueu.Local newspaper Diari de Girona reports that 160 hotel rooms have already been booked in the city, in order to house the multiple cast and crew members.Production is due to begin either in September or October 2015, and it is expected to last three weeks.
