A PLAGUE of mites inside a Guardia Civil vehicle forced officers to abandon the car in Pilar de la Horadada.
The Unified Association of Civil Guards (AUGC) has now denounced the poor state of the fleet and highlighted the occupational hazards faced by agents. It comes as the officers on patrol reported being “attacked” by the mites in the police car in Pilar de la Horadada. After they had abandoned it to be fumigated, one of the officers went to the medical centre for his bites to be checked out.
The AUGC stated that, “scarcely two weeks ago we had to report a similar case with the official vehicles of the Guardia Civil at the Fontcalent prison in Alicante.” They added that officers had to work daily in such conditions with “little care given to the safety of agents.”
