NEW CARS: Sales in Murcia rose 8.63 per cent in May.
SALES of passenger cars and SUVs in the Murcia Region in May increased by 8.63 per cent compared to the same month of 2014, going from 1,633 vehicles to 1,774. The accumulated growth so far this year is 26.5 per cent with 8,756 cars sold in the region.According to the associations of producers (Anfac) and sellers (Ganvam) in Spain the average monthly growth was 14 per cent, saying the industry has responded “immediately” to the approval of the latest ‘PIVE 8’ plan offering discounts and cash back for trading in your old vehicle.Ganvam president, Juan Antonio Sanchez Torres, believes that the May figures “demonstrate the need to continue the PIVE” until families recover their financial positions.Nationally, Volkswagen was the most popular brand with 8,107 vehicles sold, whilst the best-selling model was the Citroen C4, with 3,315 units.
