AN ALHAURIN de la Torre schoolboy has won a competition to create crafts from recycled materials.Eleven-year-old Rafael Zamora Cuevas, a pupil at Los Manantiales Infant and Primary School, won the Blue Container category prize of the competition, organised by the Provincial Urban Waste Consortium and Ecoembes recycling company.The schoolboy received a Samsung Galaxy tablet with 50 educational applications and a cheque for €300 for the school to spend on materials, from Provincial Environmental Delegate Marina Bravo.The competition, Recycling is Fun, ran from March 16 to May 15 and 440 schools from Malaga, Almeria and Jaen took part.An ecstatic Rafael explained that his submission had been a model of a blue recycling container with glasses and a newspaper, surrounded by paper and cardboard.
