La Herradura becomes science capital in June

THE Centro Civico in La Herradura (Almuñecar) will host the ‘25 years of Granada Seminar – Physics Meets the Social Sciences,’ between June 15 and 19.
The lectures feature challenges, expectations and advances in the study of social behaviour, according to director of the event, Joaquin Marro.
The meeting was supported by the European and North American Physics society (EPS and APS), as well as the European computer studies centre CECAM.
“The conferences will gather more than 200 lecturers and researchers from more than 30 different countries,” said Mr Marro. “The same methods that for more than a century physicists have applied to the study of matter, have shown to be useful to study cooperative phenomena such as the behaviour of bacterial compounds or human beings.”
