A MAN has been arrested in Malaga after allegedly threatening his partner with a knife and then hiding from police officers in a wardrobe.Officers were called to the scene by concerned neighbours who reported a loud argument and crashes, yet when they arrived outside the second floor flat and knocked on the door shouting abruptly ceased. After knocking repeatedly, a woman’s voice called out that she was fine but had got a bit nervous because she couldn’t find her anxiety pills, the Local Police force reported. The woman reportedly said she couldn’t open the door because her son had locked it and taken the keys out with him, and that she was alone inside, yet the officers thought they could hear a man’s voice and called the fire brigade for help.Their suspicions were confirmed after a fireman talked the woman through dismantling the lock and she let them in. The flat was in a state of disarray, and the woman, who could not stop crying, gestured that somebody else was there.Eventually a man was found hiding in a wardrobe, and arrested after he tried to attack the officers. The woman later declared that she had been unable to open the door as he was holding a 10-centimetre kitchen knife to her throat. The 35-year-old man, who was remanded in custody, was found to have previous records for violence, drug trafficking, traffic offences and illegal weapon possession.
