EIGHT bluefin tuna illegally caught in San Pedro del Pinatar have been confiscated.The fisherman, from Roquetas de Mar, Almeria, had eight gutted tuna on board his boat in San Pedro and now faces fines of between €210-3,000 for each fish. The catch was inspected by Guardia Civil officers and found it did not conform to the strict regulations of catching bluefin tuna, which state that the maximum allowed to be caught on any given boat is just one.Police confiscated all of the tuna, which weighed 1.5 tonnes, and passed it on to local charities.
