ONCE the school term ends on June 23, more than 4,600 children on the Plan SYGA guaranteed nourishment project will lose their three meals per day.Although a budget was approved by the government to continue with the service over the summer months, only 1,000 pupils will have access to it, meaning most of the children who get free meals at school will be left out.Equality and Social Policies Delegate Daniel Perez said the budget of €290,000 would cover summer camps or schools and free meals for Malaga Province children from poverty-stricken families. Yet the measure is nowhere near enough, as it will leave more than 4,600 youngsters hungry.
