MORE than 50,000 people do not have an internet connection in Andalucia. This applies equally to 4G, 3G, ADSL or fibre optic connections from conventional providers, found a survey by a leading satellite broadband services operator. In Almeria, the municipalities with the most internet blind spots are Oria and Sorbas which between them have 1,800 residents unable to access the internet, the report said. Albox, Arboleas, Nijar, Cantoria and Lubrin also have their fair share of residents and businesses cut off from a service that is no longer a luxury but has become indispensable.
