KING Felipe VI has revoked his sister Cristina de Borbon’s title of Duchess of Palma. The title was bestowed by Juan Carlos de Borbon, her father, back in 1997 on the occasion of her marriage to Iñaki Urdangarin, whose title has also been revoked. It has been six months since the investigations into her possible connection with the Noos corruption and embezzlement case started. The former Duchess was already pushed aside from the royal event agenda back in June, after the abdication of King Juan Carlos I.The royal household has announced the news today (June 12), on the Official National Bulletin, signed by the King and President Mariano Rajoy, without explanations as to the reasons behind the decision.
