THE Public Prosecutor’s office is requesting a 20-year jail sentence for a man who allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend.
The woman, a popular English teacher at Mar Argentea school in Torremolinos, had ended their seven-year relationship just days beforehand, and the accused is believed to have held her responsible for a heart attack he had suffered not long before.
The prosecution believes that on March 5, 2014, 46-year-old Carlos R bought a 25cm long kitchen knife before going to visit Ana Isabel to hand over some documents she needed.
An argument allegedly broke out, and the prosecution accuses Carlos of slitting the woman’s throat and killing her.
Her body was later found at home by her parents, who were staying with her at the time.
