Dr Irving Rosenberg Wittels, who is the resident surgeon and also specialises in proctology, said “We understand that when health issues occur people need to be diagnosed as soon as possible, and from that position they then need to have the best possible medical care quickly and efficiently. There are certain conditions, especially with regard to possible tumours, that if treated quickly can be resolved within a minimum treatment time, which is better for the patient and their condition.”
Policlinica La Nucia has a spacious and serene clinic in La Nucia which also has treatment rooms so you can be diagnosed and treated in the same premises. Dr Rosenberg explained: “We understand that hospitals can be daunting for many patients. Here we can treat them without the increased stress a hospital visit can produce. We specialise in non-invasive surgery where the patient can be admitted and discharged within an hour. Of course we offer a complete after care service and will always ask the patient to come back to make sure the problem has been resolved.”
The staff are multilingual, which is essential as their clients come from all over the world. On staff is a German doctor, Dr Patrick Welter as well as a Dutch doctor, Dr PCW Hertogh. The surgery can also call on a radiologist and a cardiologist when required.
Dr Rosenberg said: “When patients come to us we do everything to help and assist their recovery. We know that it is a stressful time for them and their family. The main issue we would like to put forward is that a quick diagnosis will lead to quick treatment.”
