Preparations begin for Almeria’s Costa Contemporanea festival of dance

COSTA Contemporanea dance festival will include 23 artists, 14 dance companies and dozens of students this year at various Nijar and Cabo de Gata Natural Park locations.
Although not due to run until September 2-6, the event’s programme has been announced and those wishing to join dance classes offered by Mal Pelo, Guillermo Weickert, Elias Aguirre and La Macana dance companies can now sign up on www.costacontemporanea.es
Jose Bueno and Federico Soria have designed a new image for the event, aimed to reflect its dramatic nature.
Courses will include indoor lessons in the mornings while in the afternoons dancers will head outside to mix with nature.
On the first evening, an award ceremony is planned for the Contemporary Woman Choreography Competition, while dance will take over on the other three evenings with artists including Nicolas Rambaud, Poliana Lima, Francisco Corova and Alberto Corves taking to the stage.
