SHOWING heart patients scan images of their blocked and diseased arteries can prompt them to change their ways and take up a healthier lifestyle.
In a new study, researchers found that those patients who looked at images of their calcified coronary arteries were more likely to stop smoking, lose weight and take measures to reduce their cholesterol, compared to patients who were just given a standard follow up consultation with their GP or practice nurse.
