AROUND 40 people, including children, were rushed to hospital after a chemical leak in a Norfolk holiday park’s swimming pool. Swimmers at the Wild Duck camping and caravan site run by Haven developed breathing difficulties and the emergency response saw at least 38 people taken to different Norfolk hospitals.
A spokesperson for Haven said a three-year-old and a member of staff were amongst those receiving treatment, and police confirmed that none of the casualties was believed to be in a serious condition.
The woodland park was evacuated while emergency services addressed the chlorine leak and a temporary cordon put in place.
Norfolk police said: “The incident was quickly contained and the site has now been declared safe by Norfolk fire and rescue service… There is no further risk to those staying on the site or to anyone living locally.”
