JEREMY Clarkson is once again caught up in a storm over controversial remarks having been filmed making a joke in South Africa about Oscar Pistorius’s killing of Reeva Steenkamp.
Clarkson was on stage in South Africa alongside former Top Gear chums James May and Richard Hammond in South Africa, where they are touring a live show.
Filmed by a member of the audience, Clarkson pretends to shoot a member of the audience then says, “I thought he was a burglar.” According to British paper the Daily Mirror, which has acquired the footage, May responds, “Was that a member of the audience you just shot in the bathroom?”
Former Olympic athlete Pistorius was sentenced to five years for killing his partner Steenkamp after he shot her through a bathroom door, saying he believed her to be a burglar.
The former Top Gear trio are due back on British screens on Sunday June 28 for the last episode of the series, which was scrapped after Clarkson was suspended by the BBC for abusing and punching a member of the show’s production team.
