ON a hot and sultry day, the Eurogolf Society competition this week (June 25) was a team game of Waltz, at its home course La Marquesa, Quesada in Costa Blanca South.Nearest the par three pins were won by: 5th Martin Rogers, 11th Nico Baken, 15th Tony Stanley and 17th Keith McRaeThe winning team of Martin Rogers, Geoff Evans, Gordon White and Claire Daye-Gretton came in with an impressive score of 87 points. In second place were Robin Richards, Gordon Bourne, David Lewis and (that infamous) Ghost, scoring 84 pointsFive football payouts this week: John Fairhurst x 2, Debbie Weedon, Martin Rogers, Ken EneverThe results of TOFF’s Stableford played on Tuesday June 23 were as follows:Competition Winner: Ian Pegg with a score of 39 points.Gold Division: 1st Ian Pegg 39 points, 2nd Bill Martin 38 points, CB 3rd John Barraclough 38 pointsSilver Division:1st Ken Brett 37 points, 2nd Alan Venables 36 points, 3rd Tony Stanley 35 points.Bronze Division: 1st Mary Sanderson 36 points, 2nd Morag Turner 33 points, CB 3rd Angelika Berndt 33 points.Best front nine was David Gregson 19 points, and best back nine Sue Gillett 21 points.Nearest the pins: 5th John Barraclough, 11th John Fairhurst, 15th & 17th Bill MartinEurogolf has now come to the end the current playing season. The final social event will be the Annual Presentations ‘Tropical Poolside Cocktail Party’ evening on Saturday June 27. The AGM is to be held on Friday July 3 at 10.30am. There’s a break during the months of July and August and the committee would like to wisheveryone a fantastic summer.
