A 38-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in Velez-Malaga for allegedly beating his partner, from whom he is separating.
The events took place when they both met in Malaga as the man had come from Jaen to visit their two-year-old child. While they were inside the man’s vehicle and headed towards Almeria where they were going to spend the day at the beach, she asked him to stop the car but he did not consent.
As they reached the Benajarafe area at the N-340 road, the child felt nauseous and he finally stopped the car. She then took the chance to run away, but was caught shortly after by the alleged attacker.
“He began hitting her on her neck while she held the child in her arms, falling at least three times,” reads a statement from the town council.
A witness stopped his car to aid the woman and alerted the police.
Guardia Civil and Local Police attended the scene and took the suspect into custody, while the woman was taken to the Velez Sur health facility and then to the police station to file the official report.
