Denia flies rainbow flag for equality

IN a bid to support the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) movement the rainbow flag that is the symbol of equality and the fight against homophobia flew over Denia’s town hall yesterday for Pride Day (Sunday June 28.) Pride Day marks the anniversary of the Stonewall riots in New York in 1969 and the formation of the Gay Liberation Movement.
Councillor Josep Crespo confirmed that the gesture was intended to give substance to the government team’s determination to support equality and tolerance.
