A TAX amnesty put in place by the Spanish Government expires today (June 30). The grace period, which began on January 1 this year, was aimed mainly at expat pensioners who were receiving pensions from their home country but had not yet declared the income to the Spanish authorities. The amnesty has allowed pensioners to regularise their situation, declaring their income, without being slapped with penalties, surcharges or interest on back payments. The Citizens Advice Bureau Spain has a document here which explains how to declare overseas pension income and request exemption from penalties.
