AN EXTRA stretch of a coastal path to be built in Torrevieja has been approved by the government, the mayor has announced.The project, which the Ministry of the Environment launched in 2013, was initially for a pathway reaching Mar Azul, but negotiations have managed to get it extended to reach Rocio del Mar, Mayor Jose Manuel Dolon explained.The project, which is expected to take eight months and cannot be done during the summer, is part of a compensation package from the government for the impact of a desalination plant in the area.
