RESIDENTS of Almuñecar can feel safer than ever before as the town has welcomed eight new officers to its Local Police team.
In an event celebrated at the town hall, the new members of staff were sworn in and congratulated by Citizens’ Safety councillor, Juan Jose Ruiz Joya, for having passed the course necessary to start in their new positions.
“The new officers must treat residents with the highest of respect, but also with the strongest will to solve any problems which may arise in the streets,” said Mr Ruiz.
“We wish you the best of luck, as your success is the success of the town.”
With these new officers (eight men and one women), the total team is now made up of 47 members, the largest number ever seen by the town’s Local Police force.
