Copa de Costa Blanca brings the world’s best young footballers to Benidorm

THE 22ND Copa de Costa Blanca is attracting 239 teams comprising 4,000 young athletes from 20 different countries to take part in a grand football tournament that finales on July 11 in Benidorm.
Thirteen European countries are taking part as well as five American teams and two Asian competitors.
Benidorm Mayor Toni Pérez said he was delighted with the enthusiasm displayed by all the participants in the tournament, which has drawn 23,000 overnight stays to the city. He said: “This regional event has a positive impact on the Marina Baixa and the Marina Alta, helping maintain the positive image of the city and also supporting young people to take part in pro sport.”
And the ladies have not been left out – women’s football is represented with 22 participating teams of six nationalities.
Representing Benidorm at the tournament are six teams from CF Ciudad de Benidorm and four teams from Foundation Benidorm CD.
