JAVEA’S popular Arenal Beach is showing a new summer season of films on the sand, organised by the Department of Tourism in the town.Film buffs of all ages may enjoy Tuesday screenings from 10pm with films projected onto a giant screen right on the beach.All films are in Spanish with English subtitles and are free to view, mostly targeted at a young audience. The programme for July includes Aircraft: Rescue Team, A Night at the Museum, Home Sweet Home, the musical Mamma Mia and The Guardians of the Galaxy.The beach movies shown at the Arenal have always been popular with residents and visitors, especially children, and there is plenty of available refreshment in the nearby restaurants and cafes. Filmgoers are advised to take along a chair, cushion or towel to sit on.
