THE Delfos gallery, which opened 30 years ago, is one of the few iconic places remaining in Mojacar. This art and antiques gallery has recently been refurbished so that it can handle more future art events while keeping its atmosphere intact, with a relaxing bar and outside terrace which have been completely renovated. The 2015 summer season starts on July 17 with an exhibition of 17 rare Polish movie posters, many of them dating from the 1970s and 1980s. Most of the posters are signed by famous artists including Rafal Olbinski, Franciszek Starowieyski and Adam Pekalski. In Eastern Europe, especially in Poland, the posters are a tradition that continues with passion. The aesthetics of these often abstract and sinister posters originated in the subversive environment of the communist era. Today, the political climate is quite different but if the soviet system is dead, the art it inspired is still alive. The gallery’s five other exhibition rooms will feature a unique exhibition and sale of a Japanese kimono as well as paintings, statues and other works of art.The Delfos Gallery is located at Kilometre 3 on the Mojacar to Turre road.Telephone: 647 163 681Email Address: delfosmojacar@yahoo.esWebsite: www.delfosmojacar.com
