A WILDFIRE in Humanes, Guadalajara is now under control, although the area is still under a level two emergency threat. Hot, dry temperatures and strong Saharan winds are a potential threat as the fire, which has so far burnt up to 70 hectares of land, is attended to by 150 personnel with eight fire engines, four bulldozers, two helicopters, emergency military personnel and environmental agents in attendance. The fire is believed to have been started when a spark from a combine harvester set off the blaze. Fire officer, Miguel Aguilar, who is in charge of extinguishing the fire, points out that since burning trees on the perimeter of the fire are still alight, there is still a chance that it could re-ignite.
