A RURAL Development scheme for Murcia with a €348 million budget has been given the green light in Brussels by the European Commission.The Commission explained that the scheme aims to improve the agricultural sector and will allow 500 producers to improve their facilities and 550 young farmers set up in business. Another 130 producers will be given funding to take part in quality schemes and supply local markets, 8,300 people will receive training and ecological farming will be encouraged on 37,000 hectares of land.Between now and 2020 European funds will be providing €219.3 million, while the rest will come from the Spanish authorities.
