LA NUCIA celebrated its 310th anniversary with a concert, Les Nostres Arrels, at the Mediterrania auditorium.
Choirs from Finestrar, La Nucia and Callosa joined the Pols I Pectre de Callosa d’en Sarria Orchestra and La Faltriquera dance group on stage to play to a full house, and were sent off with a standing ovation from the audience.
This was the twelfth time so far this year La Nucia´s auditorium has registered a full house, and sold-out signs were quick to appear at the box office as crowds flocked to buy tickets to see more than 110 performers from the Marina Baixa area on stage, led by Ramon Lorente, head director of La Nucia’s Unio Musical Choir.
The concert had a Valencian repertory, with pieces from all the main traditional styles of the region adapted by Lorente specifically for the celebratory concert.
Due to the success of the concert, repeat performances have been announced for July 25 in Callosa d’en Sarria and August 2 in Finestrat.
