10th Anniversary of the Blevins Franks Golf Tournament at Javea Golf Club

Javea Golf Club hosted the 10th Annual Blevins Franks Golf Tournament.

There were 120 entrants this year, the maximum the course could accommodate, and format for the competition was single stableford.

The event was hosted by the local Blevins Franks Partners Robert Croizat, Brett Hanson, Gary Cardwell and the Javea office team.

Each year Javea Golf Club make a number of places available to Blevins Franks’ clients who may not be members of the club. As this year marked the 10th anniversary, additional prizes were awarded including an all-expenses paid trip to Wentworth and a hole-in-one competition. Other prizes included highest point score, best gross, longest drive and nearest the pin.

The Wentworth competition was open to all Blevins Franks’ clients and subsequently whittled down to eight qualifiers via a preliminary round on the May 18. On the day, after a keenly fought competition, 1st and 2nd place were separated by just one point. The winner Susan Hay playing off eight scored a magnificent 37 points. Susan said: “It has always been a dream of mine to play at Wentworth, and this is just fantastic, so thank you Blevins Franks for this amazing opportunity.”

Other noteworthy winners were Ed Halse and Judy Roberts, both with 37 points and Robert Watkins in the higher handicap group who scored a phenomenal 48 points. John Ras-Anderica scored 36 points off a handicap of 5.5 and Antonio Buiges 43 points.

Unfortunately, the hole-in-one prize of a Mediterranean cruise for two went unclaimed. Maybe next year there will be a roll-over!!

Blevins Franks would like to thank everyone at Javea Golf Club for their assistance in organising the day and the green keepers and ground staff for the course’s excellent condition.

The event is considered by club members to be the one of the best of the year. Over 100 people attended the evening function where prizes were presented by special guest Sra Doris Courcelles, Councillor for Environment & Tourism, followed by a stunning buffet, live music and dancing to La Rendición.
