Man tries to sell baby in Manchester shopping arcade, mother is missing

Police have detained a 28-year-old man who allegedly tried to sell a three-month-old baby on Sunday afternoon at the Barton Arcade in Manchester. It is claimed that he was asking people to buy the baby, whom he was pushing in a pram.
Police say the baby girl is safe and in good health but the baby´s mother, who had been living in the Greater Manchester area, was reported missing three weeks ago. Police are appealing for any information from the public that could lead to her whereabouts.
The suspect has been charged with child neglect and has been bailed until September.
