VISITORS and residents of Archidona are in for a series of magical nights starting on July 17.
The Council’s Tourism Department has launched for the fourth year in a row, the “Archidona’s dreamed-about nights, nocturnal tourist routes”, which will take place during the months of July, August and September.
Two routes will be offered including the one titled “La Arxiduna Dormida” (Arxiduna Asleep), which features a theatrical visit in the area of the Citadel, where participants will be able to see for themselves the mosque, the Arab wall, as well as the Centre for Mozarab Culture Interpretation. At the end of this route, visitors will taste several dishes from the Arab period as well as Moorish tea.
The second route is titled “La Huella Barroca” (The baroque footstep), which will take visitors in a journey through the Monjas Minimas convent, the Santa Ana and la Victoria churches, the Ochavada square and other samples of the Baroque era, one of the most important periods in Archidona. Tapas from this era will also be tasted by the end of the route.
Prices are €16 and €12 respectively, and can be purchased at the Tourism Office (Ochavada square, 2), on 952 71 64 79, or using the e-mail address oficinadeturismo@archidona.es.
Guided tours will take place on July 17, August 1 and 7 and September 4.
