L’Ancora rings the changes

SOMETHING has been missing from Javea since Easter – L’Ancora, the popular restaurant bar, tennis and swimming pool complex has been undergoing refurbishment: now it is open for fun again.
L’Ancora’s owners, Alex Fisher, Francois Bournigault and Peter Nicholson had a vision they have now turned into reality. The original premises had been open for around 40 years and they thought it was time to revitalise the setting.
Three Padel courts have been installed and the three tennis courts refurbished. The outside area has a poolside chiringuito and sail awnings to keep customers cool and there is a poolside bar for those who fancy a drink while catching the sun’s rays.
Inside there is a contemporary feel with bare bricks and whitewashed plaster. The menu is varied and has a Spanish theme.
During the day L’Ancora is family orientated but in the evening it is a wonderful space to have a cocktail and enjoy some tapas.
L’Ancora is open from 9am until 11pm and has a BBQ on Friday and Saturday nights. So if you thought L’Ancora had vanished then go down and see their new look – an oasis for fun and relaxation.
