Mother of baby found in bin investigated over second death

THE Guardia Civil is currently investigating whether the woman who allegedly threw her newborn baby in a rubbish bin had done the same with another one two years ago.
Guardia Civil sources have announced this new line of investigation, explaining that they had been able to confirm the woman had given birth to a baby two years ago as there were hospital records. However, the child was nowhere to be found and there were no other records of his or her existence after the birth.
The most recent events took place in Mejorada del Campo on July 15, when a passer-by heard a baby crying inside a rubbish bin. The baby has been receiving medical treatment and is currently in excellent health.
The mother, who has three other children, was then taken into custody and remanded to prison without bail. The only comment she has made was to claim that her husband did not want to have any more children.
