FUENGIROLA, one of the first towns on the Costa to light its beaches up at night, expects to save about €100,000 per year on electricity bills after incorporating LED technology to the seafront lighting.Beaches Councillor Jose Sanchez announced that 322 lights along the town’s beaches had been swapped for the new, greener lamps, which also can also be dimmed or brightened at will.The new lighting system is guaranteed for at least seven and a half years and has been treated to prevent corrosion, the councillor explained.
