LOCALS fear an organised group could be behind a recent robbery at a construction machinery warehouse in Estacion de Cartama during which an estimated €15,000 of goods were stolen.Company employees explained that they suspected inside knowledge as the robbery was quick, undetected by a security guard and obviously well planned. The robbers, the manager pointed out, headed straight for the warehouse and storeroom where most of the goods and machinery were kept, avoiding the office for example. As items weighing more than 50 kilos were taken he also claimed it was almost impossible for just one or two burglars to have got away undetected with so much loot.Unfortunately police investigations are a day behind, the manager said, as the robbery was reported on the National Police force’s website yet it took a day for the Guardia Civil to be notified and officers sent to investigate.
