LOS ALBARICOQUES went all the way back to the golden western years to celebrate the event ‘Mad for Spaghetti Western,’ and commemorate the 50th anniversary of legendary movie For a Few Dollars More. The Cabo de Gata-Nijar Cultural association, together with the collaboration and sponsorship of Nijar Council, turned the village into a unique western town, drawing dozens of visitors. The town, used as a location in director Sergio Leone’s films, became the best setting to re-enact well known scenes from movies A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More. Scenes were played out by professionals with the original movie props and saddles, as well as the recognisable soundtrack, which was accompanied by short narrations to get the audience immersed in the story. The high point was reached with the duel between the three actors who portrayed the characters originally brought to life by Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and Gian Maria Volonte, together with the music by prestigious composer Ennio Morricone.
