‘Revenge’ shooting leaves two injured on Barcelona’s La Rambla

TWO people have been injured, one of them seriously, in a shooting in the iconic street La Rambla in Barcelona. It’s believed the victim who was left in a serious condition received a bullet wound while the other was hurt by glass broken in the incident.
The shooting took place on Tuesday (July 28) afternoon, at the entrance of the Silken Hotel where La Rambla and Pintor Fortuny street meet, in an area that would have been crowded with tourists.
Police have reported that they believe the shooter, who ran off into the crowd, was known to the victim, and that it was a revenge attack. Police searched a nearby Carrefour supermarket for signs of the escaped suspect.
