Shakira and Pique spend €5 million on Barcelona home

SINGER Shakira and footballer Gerard Pique have spent €5 million on a new home in Barcelona’s Pedralbes district, near King Felipe’s sister Infanta Cristina’s former home.
Coldwell Banker Prestige Barcelona, which acted as intermediary for the sale, announced the news, stating that the couple had been interested in the property for some time and had managed to close the deal quickly and for less than the market price as the previous owner did not want the sale delayed.
The home is extremely private and cannot be seen from neighbouring streets. Covering an area of 1,500 square metres, it has seven bedrooms, two kitchens, a swimming pool with a waterfall and a gym among other attractions.
Francois Carriere, president of Coldwell Banker in Spain, said: “It’s a great purchase for the new owners as it is one of the best houses in the city.”
