(Almost) all is revealed on councillors’ pay

ALMERIA city hall recently revealed councillors’ pay. The monthly bill comes to €83,000, but that does not include salaries for the mayor, Luis Rogelio Rodriguez-Comendador or the council’s PSOE spokesman Juan Carlos Perez Navas, who are senators and paid by the Senate.
Five other councillors are also absent from the city council payroll as they are either national MPs, heads of Diputacion departments or are unpaid.
Even the lowest paid of the 11 full-time councillors receives an annual €64,837, more than the president of the Junta de Andalucia Susana Diaz who is on €63,808 a year.
